See us at the Renewable Energy Exchange, Harrogate - 6th November

Don’t miss Duncan Renewables at this year’s Renewable Energy Exchange (REX) event at The Pavilions, Harrogate on Wednesday 6th November.

REX events are ideal for landowners, farmers, businesses, schools and all others looking to invest in renewable projects and take advantage of the FiT, RHI and Green Deal schemes.

This networking event creates a market-place that enables those interested in investing in renewable technologies to have a series of pre-arranged appointments with potential suppliers and attend a programme of roundtable discussion groups. Buyers can then review their options and make well-informed decisions as to the best technology to use and the right installer to work with.

On the run-up to the event, buyers go online and select the individuals whom they would like to have an appointment with. All meetings are then pre-arranged and scheduled on the basis of mutual interest. This service is now LIVE!

Mark Duncan will be hosting two roundtable discussions:

12:00 – 13:20 Solar PV – commercial installations explained step-by-step
13:40 – 15:00 Biomass Heating and the Renewable Heat Incentive – your questions answered

And the Duncan Renewables team wi...

British Gas to raise energy prices by 9.2% – BBC News (17/10/13)

After SSE was the first major energy company to announce a price hike of 8,2% from 15th November 2013, British Gas, another one of the ‘Big 6’ UK energy companies is also set to raise energy bills.

Outdoing SSE, British Gas announced this week that dual-fuel bills will be going up by 9.2% from 23 November.

Although the Centrica, British Gas’ parent company, “understands the frustration” of prices rising faster than incomes; the average household bill is still set to increase by an average of £123 per year. The increase, which will affect nearly eight million households in the UK, includes an 8.4% rise in gas prices and a 10.4% increase in electricity prices.

Which of the biggest UK energy companies will announce price hikes next? Have you considered investing in renewable energy to combat raising energy prices?

Flat-pack solar panels heading their way to the UK – Guardian 04/10/13

Swedish flat-pack furniture giant IKEA are to start selling residential solar panels at its stores in Britain. This is in a move aimed at bringing renewable energy to the domestic market.

With a standard, 3.36 kilowatt system for a semi-detached home costing £5,700, shoppers won’t even have to assemble the installation themselves as an in-store consultation and design service incorporating installation, maintenance and energy monitoring services will be included in the price.

Ikea’s attempt at widening domestic accessibility to solar panels has been well-received in the environmental industry with the Minister of State for Energy and Climate Change, Greg Barker having welcomed the news by stating that “well sited panels will offer a sensible, attractive return.”
