More Nominations - Finance Director of the Year 2013

Our very own Mark Duncan has been nominated for the 2013 Yorkshire Finance Director Awards.

The Awards recognise outstanding talent and celebrate the vital role Finance Directors play in the growth and success of regional businesses.

Now in its 12th year, the Awards programme is established as the leading competition of its kind in the region and is sponsored by Ernst & Young, Squire Sanders, Barclays and Sewell Recruitment Group. A Presentation dinner will be held in September where we will hear the results – good luck Mark !!

Mark Duncan is selected for the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)

The LEP’s main aim is to bring together the public and private sectors, working to a shared vision for economic growth. Mark Duncan is one of the private sector members who have been appointed to their “expert panels”. The LEP panels are responsible for supporting policy development and project delivery in specific areas as per the LEP’s Plan for economic growth.

Mark has been selected as one of four new members of the Green Economy Panel whose core objective is to achieve a substantial and continued decrease in carbon emissions alongside an increase in GVA and employment.

This is a great role for Mark and he will be able to call upon his broad Renewable Energy knowledge along with his financial background to provide honest and reliable commercial advice to local businesses across the Leeds City Region.

Domestic RHI Announcement Released by DECC

Details on the highly anticipated Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive have finally been released this month by the Department of Energy and Climate Change. The Domestic RHI is scheduled to be released in spring 2014 offering domestic customers that install a renewable heating technology government payments for 7 years. The scheme will be open to both customers on and off the gas grid.

The technologies that will be eligible for the incentive are Solar Thermal, Biomass as well as Ground and Air Source Heat Pumps. As well as opening for new customers the Domestic RHI will also be available for installations as old as July 2009 on the provision that the install and product is MCS certified.

Solar Thermal Hot Water 19.2 (at least) could be as high as 21.7p

No meters will be required under the scheme for any of the technologies, DECC have instead opted to deem the annual estimated heat demand (kWh) of each property for which quarterly government payments will be provided (see table above). Duncan Renewables at the Driffield Show next week

Following the success of the Great Yorkshire Show, Duncan Renewables will also be exhibiting at the Driffield Show next week on Wednesday 17th July.

This year will be the 137th Driffield Show making it one of the oldest agricultural shows in the UK.

Our renewables team will be available to discuss a range of technologies including Biomass, Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic Panels and answer any of your renewables questions in order to find the right technologies for your home.
Some of the features of our exhibit include a Guntamatic biomass boiler (including fuels), a solar photovoltaic roof installation and a number of solar thermal collectors on display.

Our Head Biomass Engineer will also be in attendance at the show giving a talk on ‘Biomass Explained’ at 3:00pm which will cover a range of biomass topics from the operation of biomass boilers, suitability and location, as well as fuel types and the benefits of installing a biomass heating system.

Duncan Renewables are nominated for the Renewables Awards for the Second Year in a Row!

On the evening of September 12th 2013, the Duncan Renewables team will have assembled at The Ricoh Arena, Coventry in keen anticipation of the results of the annual Energy Efficiency & Renewables Awards. They will be hoping to return back to their offices in Yorkshire with two of the highly coveted accolades in hand.

As the category results for the Commercial Installer of the Year and Biomass Installer of the Year are being announced, the Duncan Renewables team will be on the edge of their seats as this will not be the first time that they have found themselves in this position. 2013 will be the second year in a row they have been nominated in the highly prestigious Renewables Awards.

With their 245KW installation at the Great Yorkshire Showground being recognised last year in the Commercial Solar Photovoltaic Installation of the Year category; being shortlisted for two categories this year will have certainly increased the pressure tenfold.
