Changes to Feed-in-Tariffs Announced – Ofgem 06/10/13
Ofgem have announced changes to Feed-in Tariff rates (FiT) for solar photovoltaic (PV) installations which will commence from 1st January 2014.
After all tariff rates were fixed during the current quarter (1st October 2013-1st January 2014), FiT rates for installations >50kW will be decreased by 3.5% across the board in the New Year. The smaller tariff bands will remain unaffected by tariff rate degressions.

UK to become Europe’s largest solar market in Q1 2014 – Solar Power Portal 06/11/13
The UK is set to become the largest solar market in Europe for the first time during the first quarter of 2014, according to the latest data from NPD Solarbuzz.
NPD Solarbuzz claim that this success is due to a combination of predictable feed-in tariff rates and the rush to complete larger projects ahead of the cuts in the Renewable Obligation Certificate, due in the second quarter of 2014.
This honour is predicted to be short-lived though as Germany is expected to regain the top spot by the end of 2014 with the UK along with Germany, Italy and France helping to stabilise European solar demand.
