Grimston Manor Farm
Grimston Manor Farm is a small, predominantly, sheep farm in the Howardian Hills. With six holiday lets and two farm buildings, their annual electricity and heating oil consumption was very high.
Duncan Renewables were able to offer a turn-key soultion for Grimston Manor Farm by installing a 7.68kW photovoltaic system and a 100kW biomass heating system. Both systems reduced energy and heating costs for the farm whilst also providing an investment through the Feed-in Tariff and the Renewable Heat Incentive.
The Guntamatic Powerchip Biomass Boiler was chosen to meet the farm’s heating needs due to its versatility and ability to burn a wide variety of fuels. This provided the client with alternatives including woodchips from a local sawmill, chopped straw or miscanthus, which they can grow themselves, and woodpellets for convenience.
