DECC closes Green Deal Home Improvement Fund – 24/07/14

Due to overwhelming popular demand, DECC have closed the Green Deal Home Improvement Fund for applications after just 6 weeks.

DECC report that a surge in applications over the last few days of the scheme caused the allocated budget for the fund to be reached. Official figures state that in the last three days of the scheme, DECC received around £70m of applications from approximately 9,500 households, bringing the total value of voucher applications to £118m. With the fund’s budget set at £120m, the scheme was closed to ensure that all voucher applications could be honoured.

The shortlists have been announced and for the third year in a row, Duncan Renewables have been nominated at the annual Energy Efficiency and Renewables Awards!

Renewable News Round-Up - 23/07/14

It’s been a busy few weeks for not only Duncan Renewables, but also the UK’s renewable energy industry with the resignation of MP Greg Barker, continuing debates on the UK’s carbon budget and the publishing of statistics regarding the level of UK investment into renewable electricity generation.

Greg Barker resigns as Minister for Energy and Climate Change – 14/07/14

Greg Barker, the longest serving climate minister, has resigned from his post as the Minister for Energy and Climate Change. In a move which has surprised the renewable energy community, Greg Barker will additionally step down as MP next May. “For me it’s time to seek new challenges,” said Barker. “I remain 110 per cent supportive of the Prime Minister and his ambition for Britain.”

In a response to Barker’s resignation, the Prime Minister thanked Barker for leading the successful investment into the UK’s energy infrastructure and his contribution in “making the UK a world-leader in renewable technology.” Cameron particularly praised Barker for establishing the Green Investment Bank and achieving over £3 billion investment for the renewables sector during last ...

To end an incredibly busy July, jam-packed with agricultural shows, our team has miraculously managed to squeeze in one more. You will next be able to see Duncan Renewables at the 148th Ryedale Show on Tuesday 29th July.

A calendar fixture since 1855, the modern-day Ryedale Country Show is no longer just a meeting place for farmers, but rather a day-long celebration of the local agriculture community.
