The Duncan Story

Duncan Renewables is a division of Duncan Plumbing, Heating & Electrics Limited. It has been installing and servicing plumbing and heating systems for over 20 years and an installer of solar energy systems for over 15 years. With our combined expertise, both in heating and renewable, no one is better placed to help businesses and homeowners to make the most of Feed-in Tariffs and the newly introduced Renewable Heat Incentive to protect you against escalating energy costs.

In 2010, the introduction of the Clean Energy Cash Back Scheme and Feed-in Tariff payments for electricity generated from renewable sources resulted in a rapid growth of the solar PV sector. Duncan Renewables was established as a specialist provider of green energy solutions for both the domestic and commercial sector and rapidly became one of the leading players in this emerging solar PV market.

2011 saw us complete a 100kW installation for WE Jameson & Sons Ltd which at the time was one of the largest roof-mounted systems in the North. The company went on to install well over a megawatt of capacity across a variety of sites. We finished the year by installing a 50kW biomass boiler at our head offices just in time for the introduction of the Renewable Heat Incentive which was launched in November.

2012 has seen the continued expansion with several biomass systems being added to our portfolio of case studies. In May, we installed a 245kW Solar PV system at The Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate which is one of the largest roof-mounted systems in the UK.
